NSW Parliament is committed to ensuring everyone can access Parliament. If you have accessibility requirements not detailed below, contact Parliament online or call (02) 9230 2111 on Monday to Friday between 9 am to 5 pm, except on public holidays.
There is ramp and lift access from the Macquarie Street to the Reception. Security officers will direct you to the entrance and a staff member will meet you and escort you into the building.
Parliament House has:
- flat access to the Macquarie, Jubilee, McKell and Preston Stanley Rooms
- flat access to the Public Café and Strangers Restaurant
- flat access to the Theatrette
- accessible lifts from Reception
- carpets with a short, dense pile
- there is signage with raised lettering in most public areas
Parliament House has fitted induction loops in the :
- Visitors’ Galleries of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers
- Macquarie Room
- Jubilee Room
- McKell Room
- Preston Stanley Room
- Strangers’ Dining Room
- Education Centre
- Parliamentary Theatrette
The National Relay Service is an Australia-wide phone service that can assist with contacting the Parliament.
Guide dogs and other assistance animals are welcome at Parliament House. Please ensure you have your animal’s accreditation pass available to present to staff on entry.
There are accessible public toilets located on the main floor (level 7) and the lower floor (level 6). Changing place facilities are also available.
There is a baby change room on main floor with comfortable chairs, a change table, a sink and a microwave.
Accessibility Car Parking
People with a current Mobility Parking Scheme Permit visiting Parliament may arrange accessible parking, subject to availability on the day. All requests for parking must be made well in advance. A current Mobility Parking Scheme Permit sticker must be clearly visible on the vehicle.
