Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism

Tuesday 2 November to Monday 15 December 2021

From 2 November, the Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism will return to the Fountain Court. The Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism are the highest honours in Australian journalism, celebrating excellence across all media. Since 1956, when the first Walkleys were presented in five categories, the awards have grown to 30 categories, including documentary film and non-fiction books.

The Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism recognise the work of photographers across a range of genres, from news and sport to portraiture and photographic essays. This exhibition lets us reflect on the year in news, through the individual worldviews and skilled camerawork of Australia’s best photographers.

How to see the exhibition
Visit the Fountain Court exhibition space at the Parliament of NSW on weekdays, 9am-5pm. The Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism will be on display from Tuesday 2 November – Wednesday 15 December.
